Dear SharonÂ
Yes, we are open to hearing about your perches and pricing. I am not sure what you mean by a “merchant application” we don’t have one of those.Â
Just send us an email or a fax with your prices, details and we can go from there. Most perch makers are home-based businesses, so you are not any different from them. I do like to buy from the manufacturers rather than a distributor as it keeps costs down.Â
Thank you for the contact for the stainless steel washers, I have not been very proactive in hunting them down even though I know they exist. And I knew there was a local company, so that is nice.Â
Yes, I know the ones we sell are zinc plated and that is now poo-pooed for birds so thus the warning was added to the listing. But they have been needed. I would like to add SS ones as well. People can make up their own minds on what one’s will work best for them.
20 years ago, no one knew about the threat of zinc and I sold a lot of zinc hardware, but the only one left that we sell now is the washers as I stated they are a needed item. Perhaps, if we switch to SS the interest in the zinc plated ones will go away.Â
Our store is on the west border of Humboldt Park facing Ukrainian Village across the street on the east. It is all considered part of West Town. It is still north of Madison so is not the South Side until you go 9 blocks south, haha.Â
I usually sell perches lose as customers may not want 2. They do not need to be packaged, just uniform in size and length. Right now I am very low on bolt-on wood perches, so I am prime to hear from you on your products.
I would like 6″ and 12″ small birdcage perches, like for canaries, budgies. (3/8″ -1/2″)
Then 12″ birdcage perches sized medium for conures, caiques, etc. (5/8″ – 7/8″)
Then 12″ large birdcage perches for African greys, amazons, small cockatoos, etc. (1″ – 1 1/4″)
I had one company making 12″ and 18″ bolt-on manzanita birdcage perches for us but I hated the 18″ ones as finding a box to ship an 18″ perch is hard especially if they also order something smaller but big and fat.Â
I would like an XL (2″ thick) birdcage perch in a 14″ length as I have lots of box sources that fit that length.Â
I hope this info helps you understand my needs.Â
I look forward to hearing from you.Â
Thank you
