I’ve been feeding my grey Loving World/Hari premium large parrot food. Her feathers have improved, but I notice there’s a lot of waste.
She doesn’t like the tropican biscuits, and doesn’t always eat much of the small black sunflower seeds.Â
Dear Lita
You might consider switching to or mixing in Hagen Tropimix Large Parrot. It is 100% edible with no shells. There are nut meats, dried fruits and vegetable and yes, Hagen Pellets, but the smaller ones (Parrot Sticks, not the Biscuits).Â
Also, if you are not sure what your bird IS eating out of the mix, you may be filling the bowl too full.
Start with a quarter cup in a large heavy bowl. I prefer to feed on the bottom of the cage on top of a fresh piece of newspaper, when they bird flings the food (they all do), some will end up on the paper for a second chance.Â
