What’s the Best Seed Mix for an Amazon, Grey, and Cockatoo?

Last Updated on by Mitch Rezman

BJ A. wonders:

What would be the best seed mixture for an Amazon, African Grey, and Cockatoo?

I would prefer a mix with no peanuts and no soy, and I appreciate your help.

Dear BJ

I have looked into our food products and we have one mix that is both soybean and peanut-free.

TOPS Parrot Food Organic Dream Mix Large 5 lb (2.27 kg)

TOPS Parrot Food Organic Dream Mix Large
5 lb (2.27 kg)

Ingredients: Wheat berries, oat groats, Kamut, spelt, buckwheat, pumpkin seeds, dried apples, coconut chips, rose petals, dried peas, Ceylon cinnamon sticks, walnuts, almonds, pecans. All organic.

The challenge here is to understand you have 3 birds from 3 continents ~ South America (Amazon), Africa (Grey), and Australia (Cockatoo)

Each bird’s instinctual expectation of what to eat can be significantly different so expect this bird food selection process might take a bit of time.

I reviewed your past purchases and see you ordered Higgins

Mayan Harvest Tikal and Mayan Harvest Celestial.

Neither has peanuts, but they do have soybeans.

We have two pellets available that are soy-free.

All TOPS blends are certified organic and soy-free

Let us know should you require further assistance.

Regards,

Catherine
