Did you know that in most cases you can determine the gender of a Budgie by looking at the “cere” the colored band above the parakeet’s beak where the nostrils are?
Mature male budgies ceres are usually purple or blue. Female Budgies have a brown (pinkish – tan) ceres.

Male Budgies like to sing and whistle and tend to talk more readily. Males are also generally more active (hold the snickers ladies)Â

Females are more agressive (men hold your tongues please) and like to knaw as well as try to nest.

If you’re not sure, you can always have your Budgie sexed using DNA testing
