Can I Start Serving My Cockatoo Chop at the Age of 36?

I have to confess right here that I never heard of “chop” until I started seeing it in your articles (obviously I’m not feeding it). 

I’ve always fed a basic diet of pellets of around 14% protein, with whatever extras of fruits and vegetables that my bird likes, and occasional nuts as treats.

Some signs that a pet bird is not healthy include:

General Physical Appearance:

Ruffled or unkempt feathers, changes in vocalization, fluffed feathers, reduced appetite, weakness, drooping wings, distended abdomen, listlessness, inactivity, depression, reluctance to move, sleeping more than usual.
