I Adopted a White Female Indian Ringneck Who is a Picker

Monica L. is disquieted about a rent adoption

I just adopted a little white female IRN that is a picker. I’m not concerned about that. I work with my vet to keep her healthy. But how do I get her to trust me?

I’m sitting with her, talking to her, moving slowly…

Hey Monica, Kudo on the rescue,

Big picture advice,

Lots of positive energy and have low expectations.

We’ve had a rescue African Ringneck for going on 5 years – loveable as all get-out but will (try to) bite you with every opportunity.

They’re a family member, make them feel at home, by bird standards

Thank you for the response!

Low expectations.  That made me laugh a bit.

Thank you for your help.

Keeping band-aids nearby,
Monica
