Hi Elaine
We received your order.Â
Upon examination of your order, we see you ordered a MEDIUM thermo perch for a bird that is too large for a medium thermo perch. A Scarlet Macaw will need a LARGE Thermo perch.Â
The medium could break and is not thick enough for such a beefy bird. A larger perch is required for such a large bird so it does not have to grip it so tight to hang on.Â
We have your order on hold until we hear from you. We hope to hear from you soon.

I ordered the medium as I was afraid the large one was too big in diameter for him. But if you think he should have the large one then by all means please change my order to the large perch and go ahead and charge my card the extra amount. If you need me to cancel this order and do a reorder, I’ll be happy to do that.
He’s only 7months old, but I think his feet are full grown.
Thank you for your help with this order.
Elaine
The large perches do look too large in comparison to the normal wood perches your bird would use, but since it is heated, it needs a wider area for the heat to be dispersed more evenly and not cause hot spots by him/her holding it too tightly as the medium would be small for his feet.
We do need to speak for your credit card info for the larger size price difference.Â
This perch will also ship mid next week as they are very popular at this time due to winter coming.Â
Please call me toll free 877-287-0810 and do you have a phone number that we can reach you as needed.
Dearest Catherine-Â
Thank you again for suggesting the size change on the thermal perch. I had never bought one before and it’s nice to know that you have extended info about the products you sell and the best way to use them.
Romeo (my 8 month old scarlet macaw) used it last night and was not at all bashful about “breaking it in”! I found him fast asleep on it still this morning when I got up a little early. I don’t know if he really needs it, but I feel better adding it to his cage, just in case.
Again, Caterine, thank you for your personal attention to my order. I don’t see this kind of service much anymore and I greatly appreciate your help. Service like this will keep me coming back and tell my bird owner friends about you as well!
Happy Holidays to you and yours-
Elaine & Romeo
