I just adopted 2 cockatiels and a budgie.
What is the best pelleted and/or seed mixture I can start them out on?
Dear Pam
Congratulations on your new flock.
The best pellet is the one your birds will eat.
Pellets are not a natural food so birds generally will not enjoy them as much as a seed blend.
But they are a good addition to offer as they do offer a standardized diet including vitamins.
We really like the Higgins Sunburst seed and pellet blends.
The Higgins Sunburst mixes take so much of the work out of feeding our birds. It contains seeds selected for the correct size birds, with added Intune pellets for complete nutrition, dried fruits and veggies and even treat foods.
You can add additional pellets if desired. These small-sized ones can work for your cockatiel as well.
You can find all the Higgins bird food products here.
