Winter is around the corner and I want to get a heater for my cockatiel. I decided on the one that attaches to the side of the cage, as I wasn’t sure about adding another perch to his cage.
He seems sometimes to prefer his platform perches. Where do you place the heater?
Where he sleeps?
Or by food dish?
Top or Bottom of the birdcage?
Do I need more than one? I only have one cockatiel.
Your previous advice has made a much happier Cockatiel,…and owner!
Dear Janet
It has been our experience that a cage-wall mounted panel can be placed on the cage bars next to the perch the bird sleeps on at night, usually the highest perch.
The heat is so minimal that if the bird wants warmth he can cozy up next to it, or move further away if it is not needed.
One heated option is plenty for one cockatiel. We are very happy we have been able to help.
