First, please understand the bird doesn’t know the difference in the tops parrot cages. Birds like to be up high and will go to the top of the cage regardless.

Playtops are really more of a convenience for you than the bird. Dometop , Victorian (or Napoleon) top cages fall under the category of dome top bird cages but may offer doors that open on the top of the cage providing birds with an exit other than the main front door.

Quick Tips for Conversion to Harrison’s Bird Foods
Some birds will readily eat Harrison’s while others may require a little help.If your bird exhibits resistance to conversion try the following tips:
1. Bird Bread Mix can be used as an extremely effective conversion tool. Food that the bird currently eats can be added to the mix and baked in the bread. Gradually reduce the amount of that food and replace it with the appropriate Harrison formula.
 
2. Change the bird’s environment. Try moving your bird to a new enclosure, such as a box, aquarium or even a new cage. Remove all the toys, perches and bowls and offer High Potency™ on a solid surface of the floor.

Biography of Mark Hagen

BIOGRAPHY OF MARK HAGEN

Mark Hagen is the Research Director at The Hagen Avicultural Research Institute (HARI). He has a Master of Agriculture from the University of Guelph and specialized in Psittacine Aviculture.

In his Bachelor of Science, Mark concentrated on nutrition and zoology and attended a semester at the University of California, Davis taking courses in cage bird medicine, nutrition and avian science. It has been more than ten years that he has been studying companion birds; writing his first paper on parrot breeding in 1983 and establishing HARI in 1985.

Dear Catherine and Mitch, I just wanted to let you know how thrilled I am with the flight suit and leash I purchased from your company. When my cockatiel’s cage mate died, I wanted to find a way that I could spend more time with my remaining cockatiel tiel (Rai).
 I saw the flight suit on your site and watched your video. So, although I was skeptical, I decided to give it a shot. My cockatiel is a 7-year-old bird with a feisty personality.
