Christy has a question about our favorite vitamin
Hi. Just wondering which vitamin D supplement you would recommend. I have a blind cockatoo and I don’t have bird lighting.
I’m not sure the bird’s lighting I used before didn’t cause her cataracts.Â
Diane P. is unsure on how to handle 2 abused cockatiels.
Questions: I adopted two old, abused, ignored cockatiels, mated. After six months, while hands are still instruments of the devil, they will eat millet I hold, and they both wait for me to open the cage door so we can have our morning time plus their praise and obvious notice of them as mattering.

E (his legal name – must be handy with forms)
We have a large aviary cage with 8 parakeet rescues, 5 girls, and 3 boys. The census has been up to 10, but a few have passed over the years.
We recently moved the cage from a bright front room in the downstairs store, upstairs to our living space where it is not as lit up from several windows but the room does have over 20 lighting fixtures).
Cissy R. has a new inquiry,
I’ve written before about my scarlet, Maxxi, who doesn’t like to fly.
Now I have another question, I am reading about ‘lighting’ for babies.
My birds love each other but one (the pineapple) will not come to me or anyone. She takes food from me.
I think she was likely traumatized at the store since she is the same age as my first bird who is easygoing most of the time but was there much longer. I’m hoping time and patience will change it someday.
As you have parakeets and have helped me in the past, I have another question.
My female budgie about 10 years old appears to have issues with crop or swallowing.Â
Hello. I enjoy your Sunday post very much. I have a question.
I’ve one bird fully flighted 6 months old. I’ve a second bird less than six months old with clipped wings. It seems the fully flighted bird bullys the clipped bird. I house them separately and give them free flight separately.
Jennifer T. has a Quaker, 27 years old this past July and relates,
Hi Mitchell and Catherine,
Enjoy your newsletter each Sunday! Thank you. Unfortunately, my poor guy suffered another stroke this week, resulting in no use of his right side.

My 36-year-old has started showing these dark patches on feathers. What do you make of it? (see image above)
