Parakeets often are fed nothing but parakeet mix which is mainly millet and possibly a few fortified oats.
Then they are given millet spray as a treat.Â
Okay, well, budgies don’t live as long, or well as they could be on just millet alone.

He eats and flys but he’s not very active and basically just sits in one place for long periods of time, especially if another keet doesn’t land next to him to get him moving.

I want to buy a budgie, but my mom says that they are birds that can cause “brain paralysis”.
We live in Canada, so I’m pretty sure they’re careful about things like that.
Anyhow, could it be true?
