How Do I Stop My African Grey From Guarding His Cage Door?
I would like to know how I can get my male Timneh not to be too territorial around his cage cause he’s a real sweetheart and a mush when he’s not guarding his cage door.

Hi, Mitch and the wonderful people at Windy City Parrot!
Can you advise me about lighting for my six-month-old female cockatiel?
I have been reading your blog posts about the importance of lighting, and I want to get it right for her.
The problem with Quora is that anecdotal answers are opinions, not answers.
Another problem with answering this question is where would we find benchmarks for bird happiness?
I know when my ringneck is happy eating because he talks to his food.
If anyone walks into a room where he was alone for more than 2 minutes he will insist on “conversation: with him doing most of the talking.
But communicating his happiness or displeasure about any of his birdcages (he has 4), is something still opaque to me.

I have a 3-year-old Milagold Macaw, and his name is Rainbow.
Rainbow likes to bite and nibble things, like my clothes, my arm and whatever he can get.
How do I get him to stop, my arm has a lot of bruises from this, is there bird training classes for this or do I just tape his mouth close (LOL) please tell me what I should do?
Hello,
I’ve been buying budgie supplies from you guys for over 2 years now and really enjoy your stuff.
I know that you guys have budgies and are extremely experienced with birds.
I am having some trouble with my budgies are you able to offer advice?

I agree that birds will land on any perch in the wild, but caged life is different, they have to sit on the same perch all day so it needs to be comfortable, I do gymnastics and pole so I know how uncomfortable and painful it is when the pole is too wide I can’t work with it.Â
Hi Mitch
I’ve been enjoying your emails for some time now.
I have an umbrella and a citron cockatoo.
We’ve been searching for two manzanita branches and just haven’t found the perfect ones yet.
Would you be able to direct me in the right direction to find a good and safe branch for them?

Hello
I read your blog of refurbishing cages.Â
I have an old California Cage that I LOVE. it is rusting, I am looking to have it sandblasted and powder coated.

I got two Lovebirds.
What kind of Christmas Tree & decorations can I put up?
No tiny lights I’m thinking.
And for house plants, no amaryllis, holly, or poinsettias.
