question: I have recently been given a parakeet with a splayed leg.
He eats and flys but he’s not very active and basically just sits in one place for long periods of time, especially if another keet doesn’t land next to him to get him moving.

I want to buy a budgie, but my mom says that they are birds that can cause “brain paralysis”.

As a vendor of bird cages and accessories for over 25 years, we advise people to take the dowel rod perches out of the cage immediately upon assembly.
Actually, my dogs are given mostly a raw diet and I supplement a little kibble.
I have to put her away until they’re done or she chases them from their own food :).
