How Do I Find Hardwood Perches For My 2 Cockatoos?

Green Witch asks

Hi Mitch

I’ve been enjoying your emails for some time now.

I have an umbrella and a citron cockatoo.

We’ve been searching for two manzanita branches and just haven’t found the perfect ones yet.

Would you be able to direct me in the right direction to find a good and safe branch for them?

Should Blind People Keep Pet Birds?

This might be an interesting topic for a Birdie Brunch!

Hello, I’m Laurie Cannon, who wrote to you about the possibility of adopting an older Green-Winged Macaw.

We finished his hand-feeding which took another month.

He was very skinny and underfed so we have spoiled him rotten.

How To Set-up A Handicapped Galah Parrot Cage

I have a young Galah parrot (aka rose-breasted cockatoo) who is missing her toes on one foot.

She was three weeks old when she developed constricted toe and had the amputation, so she really has no idea that she’s handicapped.

Editor’s note: Animals never do.

She’s a little over two years old now. (1st April 2016)
