Our two rescued parakeets, who were found outdoors separately and given to a bird rescue, are not hand tame.
They enjoy being out of their flight cage and investigating in the one room I keep closed for them.
Recently they have eaten molding, on the back of an old mirror, and the other day molding around the glass on my antique china closet.

Hi. I have a 10-year-old Cockatiel that has been very ill.
I have always offered a variety of food both fresh human food & bird pellets.
When he became ill he just would barely eat anything at all.

I have a full spectrum light above her cage, and turned it off hoping it would help. I have reduced her hours of daylight and she is now getting 12 hrs of sleep.

After probably 6 – 7 years together, Winter, the male of the pair of parakeets we adopted was found dead in the bottom of the cage on July Fourth. He had looked like he was getting ready to molt.
